Summit Ave Zen

On my way to work this morning, after dropping the kid off at the program, I came up Summit Ave in Saint Paul – home of some of the oldest, biggest historical monstrosities/home/stadium houses around.

The sun was out.  People were walking their Scotties that had matching plaid sweaters. I had drive 105 on and Rancid’s “Time Bomb” came on…. and I’m bopping around singing and chugging a Starbucks frapp…

Black coat! White shoes! Black hat! Cadillac!

The boy’s a time booooomb!

I noticed that many of these large columned, 75 room homes are now breaking out into apartments and condos – and I have to wonder if that is sad or not?

But then Jane’s Addiction comes on and I’m lost in the desire to mosh by myself while traveling at the requested 30 miles an hour through historic St Paul….

Another person jogged by. Also with pet with sweater.  I don’t think I’ve even bought Peter a sweater this year……

Then this cool bluegrass rockabilly song comes on –

“Who knows if I’ll see you again? Time is going to save our souls….”

And get this – it’s by The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club- which is a KILLER name….. (the song is called “Shuffle your feet”)

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

Sweet.
