My elevator is better than your elevator.

Filed under: Life — denise @ 2:31 am

Today has been pretty good so far.

It hasn’t been HOT-DIGGITY or even SHAZAM… but pretty good.

+: Got to wake up late because we had a family appt at 10am.

-:  Kory didn’t notice that I was wearing a cool stripey wine-colored skirt with black tights and I had to point it out – and then he said  that he couldn’t see it because my coat was so long (um, WHAT?)  and then he said he noticed but forgot to say how beautiful I looked which was a totally unfair and sweet maneuver.

+:  We stopped at Cafe Latte on the way home. My heart beats an extra few times just thinking about that place…. I got the spreads sampler, which is heaven on earth. A big crusty loaf of baguette, cut into slices… A big pile of tomatos and slices of hot-house cukes and a mound of bean sprouts and then 3 scoops of your choice of the best spreads around.  I got Sonoma Basil, Cashew Curry and Spring Shimp…. ahhh…. I can’t explain it, but seriously, the world is just a teensy bit better to inhabit today – all because of that.

-: Work was sort of a disaster. I had to go to a very contentious meeting RIGHT when I got to work that I hadn’t been invited to. It was a meeting in which no one thought they were supposed to be responsible for doing anything.  Those are fun.

+:  I’m going to the Mall of America after work. I am going to Mix It Up to make us a bunch of meals for the next few weeks… I might also go to Sephora…. that gift certificate is BURNING A HOLE IN MY SOUL…. must… buy… make up………

+:  A guy is coming to assess our home for housecleaning services tonight…. and I don’t have to be there… ahhh….  my plan is to take whatever deal Kory works out with them and DOUBLE it.  Every two weeks? NAY!  Weekly cleaning! Twice a week!  Do you have a “move in with us and clean every day” plan?

But best of all………………….

Today, the elevator offered me a low interest mortgage.  No, I’m serious. No, you get out of town!

Got on the ‘vater and began my decent down from the 12th floor when the red phone light came on and a loud ringing filled the elevator.  I thought it was about to get stuck between floors and had a fun little nano-panic-attack and then a voice picked up…

“Hi, this is Dave.  You will be pleased to hear that you have been pre-selected to qualify for one of the lowest mortgage interest rates in the Twin Cities, right now….”

All I know is, if you can find my ass in an elevator to tell me about your interest rates, I am im-freaking-pressed, man.
